Home Education Workshops – June 19th, July 3rd, 10th & 17th 9.30-11.30
Join us this Summer for our exciting Home Education Bird of Prey & Animal Workshops, running across four engaging weeks here at the farm.
Designed especially for home educated children, these hands-on workshops combine animal encounters, practical learning, and outdoor exploration in a fun and supportive environment. Guided by our experienced falconers and animal keepers, children will have the opportunity to meet, handle, and learn about a wide variety of animals while discovering fascinating facts about wildlife, habitats, and conservation.
Each workshop lasts approximately 2 hours and includes interactive activities, educational discussions, and take-home worksheets or crafts.
June 19th – Predators of the Skies
Step into the world of birds of prey and discover what makes these incredible hunters so unique. Children will meet, handle, and even help fly a variety of raptors while learning about the amazing adaptations that help them survive in the wild.
Topics covered include: Wing shapes and flight styles, talons and hunting techniques, eyesight and silent flight & differences between species. Children will also receive a bird spotting activity sheet to take home.
July 3rd – Life on the Farm
A wonderful hands-on farm experience where children can meet and interact with some of our friendly farm animals including sheep, goats, alpacas, and pigs.
Activities include: Animal meet and greets, grooming the ponies, learning about baby chicks and how we care for them & understanding animal welfare and daily care routines. Children will take home a care plan worksheet for their chosen animal.
July 10th – Creatures Great & Small
Get up close with an amazing variety of mammals, reptiles, and insects while learning how animals adapt to survive in different environments.
Children will meet animals including: Skunk, Ferret, Hedgehog, Reptiles and Insects. We’ll explore: Habitats and adaptations, diets and feeding routines & how animals are cared for in captivity. Each child will receive a spotter sheet to continue their learning at home.
July 17th – Nature Detectives
Become a nature detective and discover how we can help protect wildlife and their habitats.
During this workshop children will: Meet, handle, and fly some of our endangered species, visit our owl box and learn what’s been happening inside, explore food chains and habitats, learn about conservation and biodiversity & make their own seed ball to take home

One FREE adult included with each paying child Additional adults: £8.00 per person (payable on arrival)
